According to the governor of Bayelsa state, Dickson Seriaki, 90% of women in Bayelsa state are the breadwinners in their homes. Governor Dickson said this in a statement read on his behalf by his media aide, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, at the launch of the Women Development Centre and the reconstitution of the board for the Youth Development Center in Bayelsa state on Feb. 1st.
"Our government thumbs up for the hardworking women of the state. About 90 per cent of them are breadwinners of their families. We will support them in their role in nurturing the society.” he said.
