The Nigerian Army has appointed a new Dorector of Military Intelligence and Acting Provost Marshall as a result of an overhaul which occured on Friday March 23rd.
The development is a follow-up to President Muhammadu Buhari’s issued warning to service chiefs to guard against attacks on schools while receiving the released Dapchi schoolgirls.
Following the shake-up, SA Adebayo will replace Abubakar Tarfa as DMI, while AT Hamman who was provost marshal, will be replaced by H Ahmed as acting provost marshal.
Tarfa was reposted as Nigerian army corp of artillery as corps commander, while Hamman is new director peacekeeping operations at defense headquarters (DHQ)
The new posting is contained in a document of posting and appointment/amendment of Nigerian army officers, signed by F Yamaha, army military secretary.
Others affected include H Garba, who is now chief of defence logistics, K I Abdulkareem, Nigerian army resource centre and AM Dikko.
Also affected are O Rabiu, J B Olawunmi, corp commander, Nigerian army electrical and mechanical engineering, G Oyefosobi, commander, Nigerian Army Training Centre (NATRAC), Kay Isiyaku, MO Uzoh, AM Aliyu, and HT Vintinaba.
Foe Pearce, NAWC, S Mohammed, acting director DMPIA, and A A Aribiyi were also affected.
The last major shake-up in the army was on December 29, 2017. It affected 399 officers.
