Cristiano Ronaldo is an assassin - Gianluigi Buffon

Just when Cristiano Ronaldo looked to be having a poor season, he flies into 2018 in sparkling form.
With a stunning record of 38 goals in just 37 appearances this term, it seems shocking that fans were ever considering that Ronaldo had lost a step.
There's great reason to suggest he could propel Real Madrid to an unprecedented third consecutive Champions League title.
Ronaldo will be eyeing up another Ballon d'Or title and European Golden Boot if he can continue his current goalscoring form.
One of the most talked about aspects of Ronaldo's recent career has been the evolution of his role with Los Blancos from a winger to a certified number nine.
The evolution of Cristiano Ronaldo's game
The 33-year-old has slowly shed the skills and flamboyant dribbling on the flanks for ruthless goalscoring and poacher-like finishes in the penalty area.
It has proven a wise decision for him, too, with the goals continuing to rain in after a minor blip.

His success in the new position hasn't evaded a certain Gianluigi Buffon, either, who has conceded more than his fair share of goals from Ronaldo during his career. Frankly, you're not human if you haven't.
And what he said about the five-time Ballon d'Or winner during an interview on Friday summed it up perfectly.
Gianluigi Buffon nails his comments on Ronaldo
"Over time [Ronaldo] has learned how to improve himself as an athlete," Buffon stated during an official club interview.
"As a player, he spends less energy with respect to what he did previously. I admire him a lot because he is a pragmatic person, lucid in everything he does and what he says.

"I think that in recent years he has shown that he is very intelligent, because he has changed his way of playing.
"He is also lethal, everything he does is at 100 percent and in front of the goal he is an assassin."
Lethal indeed, Gianluigi.
Buffon has always shown true class and it's once again apparent in these comments.

Ronaldo proved the bane of the legendary goalkeeper last season with his two Champions League final goals denying Buffon that evasive European crown.

The pair will face off again in the quarter-final stage of this year's Champions League with the first leg coming up on 3rd and 4th April.
