Hyena plucks out woman's eye as she relieves herself

A Kenyan woman has lost one eye to a hyena attack along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.

The 25-year-old woman was attacked when she alighted from a truck heading to Mombasa to relieve herself in the bushes along the highway, reports Tuko.co.ke.

At Mtito Andei police station, the Occurrence Book reads that police officer patrolling Tsavo National Park heard a person scream and when they rushed to the scene, they found the woman writhing in pain.

The police rushed the unnamed woman to Makindu Hospital where she is said to be recuperating.

Preliminary investigations by police revealed that the woman had been offered a lift in a truck, and the occupants left in a hurry when they heard her scream.
