Former Super Eagles captain, Vincent Enyeama, has left LOSC Lille after seven years at the French club.
The club on Friday said it has reached an agreement with the Nigerian goalkeeper to part ways.
“Beyond his performances, LOSC and his supporters will remember Vincent’s smile and enthusiasm. The club now wishes him the best in his future projects,” the statement read.
The 36-year-old last played for Lille in April 2017 after he was informed to look for a new club.
Enyeama joined Lille from Hapoel Tel Aviv, an Isreali club, in June 2011 and made 164 appearances for the French club.
His seven years stay was interspersed with a one season loan at Maccabi Tel-Aviv from 2012 to 2013.
“The adventure has ended,” Enyeama wrote on Twitter.
“I thank Lille supporters for their incredible support during these seven years, which were, for me, years of happiness and joy. Thank you, a thousand times, thank you, for this love that you’ve given me.”
In the 2013/14 season, Enyeama emerged as the first goalkeeper to be named French Ligue 1 African player of the season.
Enyeama won two African Champions League titles with Nigerian side Enyimba.
He played for the Super Eagles in five Nations Cup tournaments; 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2013, and was part of the team at the 2002, 2010 and 2014 World Cup tournaments.

The goalkeeper retired from international football in October 2015.
