Chris Hemsworth, Australian ‘Thor’ actor, and Wendy Williams, American show host, and a whole lot of celebrities will soon be immortalized in stone with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce (HCC) Walk of Fame Selection Committee made the disclosure on June 20, with the announcement of its 2020 listicle of 35 celebrities to receive the honor.
The selection processes spanned professionals from a variety of areas in the entertainment industry like movies, TV, music, radio, and others.
Hemsworth, 35, was enlisted in the category of motion pictures alongside other celebrities including Julia Roberts, Octavia Spencer, Mahershala Ali.
TV stars including Wendy Williams, Phil McGraw and Kattie Gifford are also set to be recognized while 50 Cent and Billy Idol would be honored in the music category.
Other celebrities whose achievements in the entertainment industry are being recognized are Christina Applegate and the fictional character Batman.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame comprises of more than 2600 five-pointed terrazzo and brass stars embedded in the sidewalks along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street in Hollywood, California.
The stars remain permanent public monuments to represent achievements made in the entertainment industry and bear the names of its honourees — from musicians, and actors to fictional characters and many others.
Walk of Fame remains a popular tourist destination. The stars are usually administered by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and maintained by Hollywood Historic Trust.
