Arsenal release statement on Wenger's successor

Arsenal football club has released an official statement regarding Wenger’s replacement following the manager’s decision to step down at the end of the 2017/2018 season.

The London club confirmed that Wenger will lead the team until the end of the season in an official statement released on Friday, and that a new coach will be appointed thereafter.

“Arsène will lead the team to the end of the season and we will make an appointment as soon as possible,’ reads part of the statement.

“The club will not be making any further comment on the selection process until an appointment is made,” it read.

Wenger, in his 22 years at the club, won three Premier League titles, crowned by his famous unbeaten league title win in the 2003/2004 campaign.

The Frenchman also bagged seven FA Cups and won seven Community Shield titles during his reign.
