Kogi State Government has been ordered by the National Industrial Court, Abuja, on Friday, to pay a civil servant, Ameh Onoja his salary.
It was gathered that Onoja’s salary was stopped in March 2014, due to claims that he had reached compulsory retirement age 60.
On Friday, April 27, Onoja’s document proving the initial claim false, was held in court and the judge, Justice David Isele, ruled based on the evidence.
According to Isele, his evidence proved that Onoja was born October 1, 1960, thereby vindicating him of the allegations.
Isele said that the complainant had not even served in the civil service for 35 years.
His counsel, Daniel Onuh, said Onoja joined the civil service in 1983 as a class teacher with the Benue Government. In 1995 according to Onuh, Onoja transferred his service to Kogi State.
He further added that his client is still serving as Vice Principal (Academics) of Ogugu Community Secondary School, in Olamboro area of the state.
Onuh revealed that his client was not issued a dismissal letter and no claims of misconduct.
On this note, he ruled that the claimant’s monthly salary of N153,298 be paid in full within one month from March 2014 till date.
