Nigeria’s former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has lamented the Tuesday killings in Benue State that saw two Catholic priests and several other worshipers butchered by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
Fani-Kayode however said that despite the perceived failures of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government in addressing the issues of wanton killings across the country, that Nigeria, which survived Ebola epidemic, will survive the current unpleasant happenings in the country.
Fani-Kayode also reacted to the current travails of Senator Dino Melaye, who according to him was among those that opposed former President Goodluck Jonathan.
He wrote on his Twitter handle: “Come rain, come shine Nigeria shall survive: if we can survive ebola we can survive Buhari!
“This (Tuesday) morning Fulani militants slaughtered 11 worshippers and 2 priests during mass at Gwer East in Benue. It appears that the military carnage in Gwer West 6 days ago has further attracted Fulani militants to massacre and completely stamp out any form of resistance in the area.”
On Melaye he said, “This is @Dino Melaye. He was one of those that fought @GEJonathan and supported @MBuhari. He is being wheeled into a hospital after jumping off a SARS vehicle that was conveying him to Kogi State to face criminal charges. This is what Buhari does to his friends for opposing him.”
