Former Super Eagles winger, Emmanuel Amuneke, has been appointed into the FIFA technical study group for the World Cup.
Amunike will join Carlos Alberto Parreira, Bora Milutinović, Alessandro Nesta, Andy Roxburgh and Marco van Basten in the group.
The group will be headed by Parreira, a FIFA World Cup-winning coach, who, along with Milutinović, holds the record for coaching the highest number of different teams (five) at FIFA’s showpiece event.
TGS will analyse the matches of the World Cup and evaluate statistical data using the latest technologies.
After the conclusion of the World Cup, a technical report, which will include comprehensive statistics, will be produced by the TSG and distributed among FIFA’s member associations.
The group will also be responsible for selecting the winners of the golden, silver and bronze boots as well as the best players, best goalkeeper and best young player.
The TSG will also determine the winner of the fair play award.
