Senator Babafemi Ojudu, the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on political matters, has stepped down from the governorship race in Ekiti State.
He stated his decision while addressing reporters in Ado Ekiti, the state capital on Thursday .
Senator Ojudu explained that he
took the decision for the sake of peace in the state chapter of the All
Progressives Congress (APC).
Following the Ekiti APC
governorship primary election which ended inconclusively over the weekend, the presidential aide said he was withdrawing since the race has turned
violent and messy.
Ojudu, however, declined to
announce his support for any of the remaining 32 aspirants.
He called on his supporters to
remain calm in the interest of peace and be assured of brighter days ahead.
