Nigerian Afro-pop star, Wizkid, gave a befitting performance as he wowed a pa ked O2 Arena in London on Saturday.
After selling out the Royal Albert Hall in London in September 2017, the singer had vowed to sell out the iconic O2 Arena.
With tickets for the Afrorepublik concert sold out days before the event, the ‘Come Closer’ singer didn’t fall short of expectation on Saturday.
Before he came on stage to own the night, artistes like Mr Eazi, Tekno, Tiwa Savage, Not3s, Yxng Bane and Maleek Berry delivered topnotch performances in front of over 20,000 people.
Naomi Campbell, UK model, introduced the Starboy as he came forth accompanied by his band, and backed by dancers.
Wizkid performed hit songs like ‘Manya’, ‘Nowo’, ‘Final’, ‘In My Bed’, ‘Caro’, and his most recent release, ‘Fake Love’.
He also performed classics like ‘No Lele’, ‘Tease me’, ‘Don’t dull’, ‘Azonto’, ‘Pakuromo’ and ‘Love my baby’.
At some point, he invited Tiwa Savage, whom he described as “someone special”, for a joint performance of their collaboration ‘Ma Lo’.
UK rapper, Skepta, later joined the Nigerian superstar on stage for the remix of ‘Ojuelegba’ which was backed up by a full choir.
Following his set, Skepta described Wizkid as “the greatest artist in the world right now”.
Closing the night, Wizkid promised fans that he will “make this happen again next year”.
