Nigerians react as Wizkid missing from Olamide's 'Kana' video

Just like Drake was absent in the video for ‘Come Closer’, Wizkid is also missing from the visuals for ‘Kana’, his joint effort with rapper Olamide Adedeji.
At the start of the video shot in the US, a warning says: “This film contains extreme language, violence, strobe lighting and upsetting scenes.”
With no explanation given for Wizkid’s absence in the video, fans have taken it upon themselves to come up with possible reasons why he was a no-show.
“Wizkid is feeling bossy to feature in the video,” Eric Monday, a fan, commented on YouTube.
While most fans expressed disappointment that the Starboy is not in the video, Collins Mega brought up Wizkid’s unavailability at the world famous Coachella festival, asking if the singer’s absence in the ‘Kana’ video was also caused by “passport issue”.
Wizkid had cited the inability of his band to secure US passports as the reason for his no-show at Coachella.
Harry Montrel, commenting along that line but throwing up a different theory, said: “I think Wizkid has issues with his Stay in United States, ever since he relocated back to naija…. he hasn’t been able to come to Yankee again. Did he overstay? Was he banned? Does he have a green card? Something is definitely wrong.”
Another commenter, Fxty, said the singer was in the UK for the Afrorepublik Festival when Olamide was shooting the video in the US.
“Wizkid was in London for his show at the O2 Arena while Olamide was in the United States on tour when the video was shot.,” Fxty wrote.
According to Precious Chimaobi, Wizkid did not agree with the concept of the video, hence his non-appearance.
Chimaobi wrote: “I think wizkid don’t like this concept of this olamide’s idea! Or was planned this way between two of them for publicity too, anyways the song is still dope.”

  1. i like the fact that wizkid was not in the video olamide held it down like the boss he is. wizkid was fantasic in 2018 but 2018 belonged to Oloko. the out of control video by Oloko is the best in nigeria in the last 10 years. if you want to see the sesxiest women in the world dance then Olokos Out of Control video is number one.
