President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has been appointed as the 1st Vice-President of Confederation of Africa Football (CAF).
According to a statement by CAF Secretary-General, Amr Fanny, Pinnick’s appointment is with immediate effect.
“Following the resignation of the 1st Vice President Kwesi Nyantakyi and the prevailing situation in the Football Federation of Nigeria,” the statement read.
“The CAF President, after consulting the members of the Emergency Committee, appointed Mr Amaju Melvin Pinnick as the 1st Vice President.
“This decision is immediately applicable, in accordance with article 27 para. 3 of the statutes which will be rectified by the Executive Committee in its sessions scheduled on the 27 and 28 September, 2018.”
