American singer and record producer, John Legend, is on the way to earning an EGOT after his Emmy nomination for ‘Jesus Christ Superstar Live In Concert’.
EGOT is an acronym for Emmy, Grammy, Oscars and Tony. Winners of the quartet attain showbiz icon status.
The ‘All of Me’ singer now has a chance to win an Emmy with his first ever nomination for his role as Jesus Christ.
‘Game of Thrones’, a longrunning fantasy epic, drew 22 Emmy nominations, the highest for any production, while ‘Saturday Night Live’ and ‘Westworld’ each had 21 nominations.
‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ trailed them with 20 nominations while ‘The Assassination Of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story’ had 18 nominations and ‘Atlanta’ earned 16.
