The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, on Saturday held separate meetings with President Muhammadu Buhari and Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Uche Secondus, national chairman of the PDP, Gbenga Daniel, director-general of Atiku’s campaign, and Paul Arkwright, British high commissioner, were present when Welby met with the PDP presidential flag bearer in Abuja.
Meanwhile, Welby was a keynote speaker at a conference themed ‘Religious Harmony in Nigeria: Towards the 2019 General Election’.
President Buhari, presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), also spoke at the conference which was attended by religious and traditional leaders.
Subsequently, Welby visited the presidential villa for a dinner with the president.

I sincerely hope 2019 will move us closer to these goals and so I look forward to peaceful, fair and credible elections come 2019. pic.twitter.com/bPEHXBKkTK
