The Sorry hitmaker, 25, shared a picture on Instagram of an equation that read, “MJ + 2 Pac equals CB” alongside black and white photos of the trio.
“Everyone wants to wait til people die To give them the credit they deserve. I’m calling it now when CB (Chris Brown) passes away after a long full life, you will miss what you had in front of you the whole time… trust me watch you will see,” Bieber wrote in the caption.
The Canadian popstar also seemingly referenced Brown’s brutal assault of former girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 as a “mistake,” and added: “The people who have overlooked this man's talent because of a mistake he made… you need to reevaluate! Love you @chrisbrownofficial.”
The Loyal singer replied in the comments of Bieber’s gushing post with a series of red heart emojis, Music-news has reported.
Sean Kingston also supported the singer’s claims, and wrote, “Big facts lil bro CB legendary,” while comedian and actor Marlon Wayans commented: “Celebrate the legends while they still breathing. Let’s get back to love.”
Marshmello, who was previously criticised for working with Brown, simply wrote, “Big facts.”
However, some of Bieber’s fans and followers weren’t happy with him publicly supporting Brown, who was also accused of raping a woman in Paris, France, earlier this year. He strenuously denied the charge.
“Stop normalising violence… What you wrote will make people think that violence is just a simple mistake and ITS (sic) NOT,” one wrote, while another commented: “This post is so damaging.”
“A mistake? Have you ever been on the other end of a fist? I hope and pray to GOD someone you love never suffers domestic violence,” a third hit back.
After attacking Rihanna in February 2009, Brown was sentenced to community service and domestic violence counseling, while also receiving a restraining order keeping him away from his ex.
