Wale Jana, member of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) and CEO of Sapphire Group, has incurred the wrath of customers over his defensive stance on the rape allegations against Biodun Fatoyinbo, his senior pastor.
Two of his customers have taken to social media platforms to share videos where they can be seen destroying expensive wares and jewelry purchased from his store after the businessman made comments that were perceived as being supportive of Fatoyinbo.

They also reportedly dubbed him a “bum kisser” and a “rapist’s apologist”, swearing never to patronize his brand again.
In the wake of rape claims against Fatoyinbo, Jana had dismissed the narrative of Busola Dakolo, a celebrity photographer and wife of Timi Dakolo, as “porous”. He also criticized the duo on the premise of their past romantic involvements.
“Timi and Busola Dakolo are not saints, she was a choir member and Timi was a choir leader in church when she got pregnant with her first baby. Timi denied that they weren’t having an affair and then she got pregnant the second time,” he had written in a now-deleted post.
“That was when the church forced them to get married. This chorister was sleeping with her choirmaster and was a baby mama with two kids before they got married.
“These are morally bankrupt people and all that talk in the video will not hold water under cross-examination. Timi and Busola have a lot of skeletons and they both live in glass houses and they are busy throwing stones.”
Following the outrage and brand damage that met his comments, Jana issued a statement of apology.
“There has been lots of misunderstanding due to my earlier post. I apologize to everyone my previous post has offended as it is insensitive to the victims of rape,” he wrote via his social media handles.
Meanwhile, a huge number of Nigerians have demanded that Fatoyinbo step down from his position as the senior pastor — using the hashtag #PastorStepDown.
