The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has blamed corruption for the security challenges facing the country.
Magu said this on Ibadan-based Diamond 101.1 FM radio programme, Eagle Alert, on Tuesday.
Magu, who was represented by the Ibadan Zonal Head of the EFCC, Friday Ebelo, said corruption had created a fertile ground for crimes to thrive in the country.
He said, “You can’t separate the growing insecurity from corruption. The surest path to peace in our country is to take care of the menace of corruption.
“If we succeed in stemming corruption, we will berth a working system in which the problem of infrastructural deficit will be addressed. Ignorance will be kept at bay, and there will be more jobs for the people.”
He urged parents to show interest in the development of their children.
