Popular movie star, Cameron Boyce, who starred in the Disney Channel’s television shows and series, has died at age 20.
A spokesperson for Boyce’s family disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday morning.
The statement said the star of TV movies franchise ‘Descendants’ and comedy show ‘Jessie’ passed away in his sleep.
This is following a seizure he had endured as a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.
“It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron. He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated,” it read.
“The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.
“We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother.”
The talented actor, who was just 9 when he made his acting debut in ‘Mirrors’, a horror movie, had shared a black and white photo of himself on Instagram the day before he died.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, and dubbed an old soul by those who knew him, according to Disney Channels’ biography of him, Cameron cast alongside Adam Sandler in the 2010 comedy film ‘Grown Ups’ alongside Salma Hayek.
According to Disney, by the time he was 19, Boyce was “already a veteran to show business”.
