A Nigerian singer, Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, better known as Reekado Banks, has come out to say he does not like the reactions that trailed a prank phone call that went wrong during a live interview.
An unidentified lady had called on a live show on POP CENTRAL TV which featured Banks, to accuse him of dumping her after the duo engaged in sexual intercourse.
“You had sex with me and you did not call me back,” said the lady who was calling from Lekki.
When the host of the show defended the artiste, saying the caller had probably dialed a wrong number, she insisted on her claim.
She said: “It is not a wrong number. Everybody knows Reekado Banks. I have been sending him messages…”
The phone call incident has since sparked reactions on social media platforms, with users airing their differing views on what the lady had said.
Clearly peeved by the twist it had generated, the gifted singer took to his Twitter handle to say that he does not like the turnaround of the conversation around the issue.
He said it was supposed to be a prank phone call but it was taken too far.
“It is truly a problem when a media platform begins to pursue shock value at the expense of an artistes’ image,” he wrote.
“So that was a prank call on a tv show, it was funny then , but I do not like where this is headed!”
Below are some of the reactions.
