A bus driver and a motorcycle rider were confirmed dead in two separate road accidents in Ogun State on Saturday.
Both the Federal Road Safety Corps and Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps said the duo died after they were hit by trucks.
A spokesman for TRACE, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said the driver was killed instantly on Ijebu-Ode/Oru/Ago-Iwoye road when a truck with number plate BGW 161 XA rammed into his bus with number plate RBC 494 XA.
Akinbiyi also said the motorcyclist met his death when a fuel-laden tanker which suffered a brake failure hit him at Joju, along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
The state sector commander of the FRSC, Clement Oladele, said the motorcyclist was killed by a petrol tanker at Joju, along the Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta Expressway.
According to him, one person got injured in the accident.
In a statement, Oladele said the injured person was taken to hospital for medical treatment while the corpse of the motorcyclist was trapped under the tanker.
