Arch-Bishop Dr Eddy Bebor of the Ark of God Covenant Church, Warri has charged Bishops in Christendom to be mindful of the exalted nature of their calling so as not to soil their garments with ungodly conducts capable of bringing disrepute to the name of Christ, noting that there was need to be more prayerful and be committed to the Study of God’s word as a man is promoted to the rank of a Bishop in God’s Church.
He spoke during the consecration and enthronement of Rt Revd Dr Emmanuel Adjekawen Okoro as Bishop of The Triumphant Family Christian Center in Warri, Delta State.
In his message to the congregation during the ceremony, Arch-Bishop Bebor reiterated the need for those called to the office of Bishop to be more committed to the flocks God given to them for preparation to meet their God, adding that there was need for the congregation to also hold their shepherd in prayer for the success of their episcopacy.
He advised the new Bishop to study the word and be more prayerful, stressing that more is expected of him as a Bishop.
‘’Mind the way you dress henceforth, you can’t be everywhere; be mindful of your choice of words and the friends you keep. And do not allow the title of Bishop intoxicate you because Bishops don’t quarrel and fight in public places’’, Archbishop Bebor admonished.
He charged the congregation to also play their part in the ministry of the Bishop by supporting him in every way possible just as Aaron held the hands of Moses so that Isreal was able to triumph over enemies of God’s people.
Founder of the Triumphant Family Christian Center who was enthroned as Bishop at the ceremony dedicated his episcopacy to the service of God and humanity, urging the people to continue to hold him in prayers so as to make a success of the mantle handed unto him by his enthronement as Bishop.
He promised to dedicated his entire life to the good of the flock committed to his charge and that ‘’God being my helper, I will not disappoint’’, he added.
High-point of the occasion was the ceremonial cross-examination the new bishop, enthronement and decoration with the regalia of a bishop before the staff of authority was presented to him, just as the assistant Pastors and members of the Church swore to the oath of allegiance to the office of the Bishop with the oath administered Barr Okperiruisi Emmanuel.
