A collaborative track recently released by Florence Otedola, Nigerian disc jockey better known as Cuppy, has scaled up to number 3 on the Apple Music chart within a day of release.
The 26-year-old Afrobeats vocalist and daughter of Femi Otedola, billionaire business mogul, had teamed up with Zlatan Ibile, a street-music sensation, for the new project, titled ‘Gelato’, which was released on Friday.
On Saturday, the talented DJ took to her Instagram to draw the attention of her fans to the rise.
‘Gelato’ scaled from fifth to third place, just behind Davido’s ‘Blow My Mind’ and Burna Boy’s ‘Anybody’ — both of which pegged at number 1 and 2 respectively.
The song is a follow-up to Cuppy’s previous hit single ‘Abena’ which features Kwesi Arthur, Ceeza Milli, and Shaydee.

Aside from music production and entertainment awards, she has bagged quite a number of endorsement deals with renowned brands including Pepsi, Tiger Beer, and Samsung.
