Micro-blogging social network, Twitter? has restored the account and verification badge of Yemi Osinbajo, Nigeria’s vice-president, but some tweets are still missing.
The online social networking service had taken down the account with the blue badge — signifying its verification — removed on Friday.
It is believed that there was attempt by suspected hackers to gain unauthorized access to the account.
As of the time this report was filled, the vice president’s Twitter handle, which has over 2.1 million followers, has been restored bearing the verification badge, but his nearly “2,400 tweets” appear to be missing or are yet to be restored.
What is left of the VP’s handle are just three tweets including his “prayer for peace in Nigeria” and wishes for “Muslims commemorating the Eid-Al-Adha.”
“Our prayer is that in this nation, peace will reign and together Nigeria will prosper and progress in our time,” he wrote.
“Barka Da Sallah to all Muslim compatriots. As the commemoration of this important festival Eid Al-Adha goes on, we are reminded of the virtues of unity that underpin our nation, even as we share in the joy and the fellowship of the celebration.”
Our prayer is that in this nation, peace will reign and together Nigeria will prosper and progress in our time.

Twitter had clearly stated that accounts may only be “suspended” if they contain abusive tweets, have been compromised or introduce security risks for the social networking platform and all of its users.
