Music pundits have reacted with excitement to Tiwa Savage new record deal with Universal Music Group.
Popular in the reactions is the fact that the pop singer kept a level head and achieved something good despite a challenging 2018.
Don Jazzy, Mavin Records boss announced that the label’s first lady had moved on after seven years.
Announcing her departure from his label, he appreciated the singer for her seven years of commitment, adding that she would always be the label’s first lady.
There have however been questions about Don Jazzy’s endorsement of the deal that saw the songstress joining Universal Music Group. In 2012, Don Jazzy and D’banj parted ways and rested Mohit Records following ideological differences that had to do with the next phase of the business.
While D’banj wanted to sign an international deal with Kanye West’s Good Music, Don Jazzy preferred to remain local and allow the music to sell internationally. Tiwa Savage’s move might just not appeal to Don Jazzy.
